A barcode label does not have to be plain. Adding your logo turns a stock label into a branded one - on shelf-edge tickets, product labels, and anything a customer sees. The short answer

Upload a PNG or JPEG image up to 128 KB, drop it into a logo element in the template designer, and it prints on every label. Logo branding is part of LabelCraft Pro. If the file is the wrong format, corrupt, or too big, LabelCraft rejects it on upload with a clear reason - it never silently prints a blank where the logo should be.

File requirements

Keep your logo within these limits so it embeds cleanly and prints sharp:

Format: PNG or JPEG only. Other formats (SVG, GIF, WebP) are not accepted.
Size: up to 128 KB. A logo is a small mark, not a photo - 128 KB is plenty for a crisp label image.
Shape: crop to the artwork before uploading so the element is not mostly empty space.
Colour: a high-contrast mark (ideally black on transparent or white) scans and prints best on a thermal printer.

What LabelCraft checks when you upload

LabelCraft validates the file the moment you add it, so a problem is caught at design time instead of on a printed roll. It surfaces exactly which of these went wrong:

No image was provided - the element is empty.
The format is not PNG or JPEG - a file with the wrong or a mislabelled type is refused.
The file could not be decoded - it is corrupt, or its bytes do not match the format it claims.
The image is too large - over the 128 KB cap.

Each of these is reported to you directly. A logo that cannot be embedded never prints as an invisible gap - you are told before it reaches a label.

How to add your logo

Upgrade to Pro if you have not already - logo branding is part of the Pro brand kit.
Export your logo as a PNG (best for a mark with transparency) or JPEG, cropped to the artwork and under 128 KB.
In the template designer, add a logo element and upload the file. If anything is wrong, LabelCraft tells you the reason on the spot.
Position and size the logo, preview with a real product, and print. It renders to ±0.1 mm at the size you picked.

Tips for a crisp logo on a thermal printer

A thermal printer is one colour and a modest resolution, so a busy or low-contrast logo can turn to mud. Favour a simple, high-contrast mark; avoid fine gradients and thin grey lines; and give the logo enough room in the layout that it is not squeezed against the barcode or text.

Why is my logo rejected as too large?

The decoded image is over the 128 KB cap. Re-export at a smaller pixel size or higher compression - a label logo needs far less data than a web image, and 128 KB is ample for a sharp print.

Can I upload an SVG or a GIF?

No. LabelCraft accepts PNG and JPEG only. Export your artwork to PNG (ideal for a logo with transparency) or JPEG before uploading.

My file is a PNG but it is refused as undecodable - why?

The bytes do not match the format the file claims - often a renamed or exported-wrong file, or a truncated download. Re-export a clean PNG or JPEG from your design tool and upload that.
