Shopify lets you receive incoming stock through Transfers (Admin → Inventory → Transfers) and scan items IN as they arrive, so your on-hand counts stay accurate. But it stops there: Shopify will not print a barcode label for what you just received. Your new stock is counted, yet it can't be scanned at the till until someone labels it. The native receiving gap

Receiving in Shopify is a scan-in, never a print-out. Transfers tell you what arrived and adjust inventory, but they don't produce anything you can stick on a product. That matters because received stock usually isn't shelf-ready: items show up in cartons, often with no barcode at all, or with a supplier barcode that isn't in your catalog.

To put that stock out and ring it up, each unit needs a label that scans against your Shopify product — the right SKU, barcode, title and price. Printing those at the moment of receiving is the fastest, least error-prone time to do it: you're already holding the goods, and the accepted quantities are right there in the Transfer.

Label a received Transfer natively

Open "Receive & label" in LabelCraft and let it read the Transfer you just received. The steps:

Open "Receive & label" from the LabelCraft menu.
Pick a received shipment from your Shopify Transfers.
LabelCraft reads what actually arrived — the accepted quantity on each line, resolved to its product, SKU, barcode and price — and pre-fills the number of label copies to the received quantity.
Adjust or remove rows as needed: skip anything you don't want to label, or change a copy count.

Receiving from a supplier file instead?

Not every delivery rides on a Shopify Transfer. When you're working from a supplier's paperwork, use "Print from a list": paste the rows directly, or upload the packing slip or purchase-order CSV. A header row, lots of extra columns and quoted fields are all fine — LabelCraft finds the columns it needs.

Each row is matched to a Shopify product by SKU or by barcode/UPC — an exact match, never a guess. Anything that can't be matched cleanly lands in the Exceptions panel: unrecognised items, ambiguous matches, and rows with no barcode are all collected there for you to resolve before a single label prints.

Items arrived without a barcode?

Plenty of received stock has no barcode at all. One click on "Generate missing barcodes" fills the gaps: a real GTIN-13 (EAN-13) when you've configured a GS1 prefix in Settings, otherwise a unique internal Code 128. It never overwrites a barcode you already have.
